Getting kids excited about cooking is one of our passions at LIFT Enrichment. When students are engaged during the workshop, they develop valuable life skills and a love for healthy eating. Here are four ways we can inspire enthusiasm for cooking in your school:

1. Make It Hands-On

Kids love to get their hands dirty! Our Instructors involve them in every step of the cooking process, from chopping vegetables to stirring sauces. Hands-on activities not only make cooking fun but also enhance their motor skills and coordination.

2. Creating Healthy Recipes That Taste Great

You may be surprised how much kids enjoy healthy eating when applying healthy components to food they already love. Students in the LIFT Enrichment program get to enjoy familiar recipes with a healthy twist like our healthy oat and banana pancakes or pizza english muffins with a cucumber salad. They learn how to create a well-balanced meal, learn about the nutrition behind it, and have fun while doing it.

3. Use Colorful Ingredients

Bright, colorful ingredients can make any dish more appealing to kids. We use a variety of fruits and vegetables to create vibrant, eye-catching meals. This not only makes cooking more fun but also introduces them to a range of nutritious foods.

4. Go the Extra Mile

Our Chef Teachers will go the extra mile for your students – especially when they take initiative. A great example of that is picking a ‘Chef of the Day’. At the end of each workshop, an exemplary student who took the initiative to help clean up or help their Chef Teacher without being asked is named the Chef of the Day. This student receives an added shout of praise and extra food samples that day. It’s just another simple way our team brings joy into the program.

Our cooking classes are designed to be educational, interactive, and most importantly, fun for students. Interested in learning more about how LIFT Enrichment can enhance your after-school programs? Book a meeting with us today.
