5 Reasons Why Our Prices Are Going Up in 2024

Fun title, right?

Welcome to  2024, the age of everything getting more expensive.

We made some decisions to slightly raise our prices (less than 5%) for new contracts.  We will also have specials for those who are purchasing a lot of workshops (400+) so it won’t effect you guys.

But here are some reasons prices are going up at LIFT Enrichment

1. Inflation is going up by 3.1%

Everything is now 3%+ more expensive then it used to be, and the United States is trending in that direction, so prices will go up everywhere across the board.  Don’t be surprised if your favorite burrito shop goes from $15 to $20 in the not to distant future.

2.  Grocery costs are also going up.

“Grocery prices have jumped by 25 percent over the past four years, outpacing overall inflation of 19 percent during the same period,” states the Washington Post. We all remember how eggs went up in price over the past year. And we buy a lot of eggs! Beef, chicken, and other vegetables have gone up as well. Overall, meats will see a significant increase in price of 3.3%. (Source) We buy hundreds of thousands of dollars in groceries every year to teach our healthy culinary workshops.

3. The New California Sick Leave act will cost small businesses a lot

Governor Newson launched the SB 616 act that almost doubles the amount of paid sick leave that employees can take in a year.  Therefore, all small businesses will be seeing a very large extra expense that could be in the 6 (or even 7) figures.  Running a company just got more expensive.

4. Insurance Requirements Increases for Schools, particularly for SAM

Each year, we’ve seen how the SAM requirements (Sexual Abuse and Molestation) has been steadily increasing from $1 million to $2 million and it seems to be going up, and general liability insurance will cost more for anyone who works with schools.

5. Smaller Costs Going Up For Small Businesses That Work With California

These include:

  • Legal fees (to understand all the new laws and be compliant)
  • Mileage increases
  • Taxes
  • Basic culinary supplies we purchase (electric skillets, containers, cutlery, etc.)

But I do have some good news.

Next week we will launch our NEW Referral program that will get you up to 20 workshops FOR FREE (which is $1,000 in FREE WORKSHOPS) if you refer us to another district or individual school that turns into a client.

And if you’d like to lock-in our previous 2023 price, book a call with our team here
